About this deal

Outside of the blog, I work with numerous technology companies helping them to market their product to consumers. Wi-Fi bandwidth is also a fraction of the theoretical value: between computers in the LAN and WLAN during testing it did not exceed 288 Mbit/s. I’ll probably be pulling my zte286d apart again to install extra sma antennas the next few days so will be more than happy to back up all the mtd partitions to a flash drive to distribute, maybe these can be rewritten to yours?

I'll wait to see if I can ssh into it on the new module later this week when it arrives, but the interesting thing is when I am on the web interface it says an update is available and downloads it, then once I've tried to apply it I'm told update failed (and reminded each time I log in there's an update available). I am back to the Nordic software release B02 after applying just the first framework mentioned in the original post of this thread. If you can't change the DNS to something like Cloudflare or Google, or whatever, and it works with a separate router then I guess the (if more untidy) solution is to continue with that 'fix'. From that, it will produce a Wi-Fi network allowing your other devices to get connected to the internet. It will still be using the H3G "look" but with all the features unlocked, though you may be able to just power off and on to do the same thing.

I can see generally that 1900mhz+ is what was once deemed as high band In the LTE+ days so would make sense. I have tried setting 20 as the primary band all the time by locking to that cell, but when I do I the modem stops aggregating with band 1. I suppose if this earlier image is correct then we can figure out which external antenna is bridged to which internal antenna which gives us an idea of identifying two of the internal. It is a pity that instead of the USB charger, it has a 12-volt AC power adapter – you cannot power it with a power bank. The advanced feature is the ability to adjust the power of the Wi-Fi signal (although it should probably be in the section on Wi-Fi), as well as the URL filter (should be in the parental control). Push the SIM card in the slot, with the side of the SIM card with writing on it facing downward, towards the back of the router. cfg init, /home/scl/ci/workspace/Soft4_MF286D_H3GSE_CPE/build_folder/qsdk/build_dir/target-arm_cortex-a7_uClibc-1.All being well after a few seconds it should then find this firmware file on your TFTP server, download it and flash it to the onboard memory. I’ve been doing some reading and people are trying to get these working with openwrt which would be brilliant if it happens. Although we didn’t see speeds quite as fast as in the above speed tests all the time, we never dropped below 12-15 Mbps over Wi-Fi, and normally achieved a download speed of 30-50 Mbps over an Ethernet connection. I say “was” as I’ve now moved my antennas to rear of my house as *when* the new 3 masts go live, my setup will be line of sight with them, plus having 3 antennas hanging off the front wall of your property looked a mess so I’d rather take the slight performance hit for now.

Before I flash my MD286D, i would be curious to find out a bit more what the Elisa firmware offers in addition to the H3G f/w. I was using load balancing and while it mostly worked, it wasn't perfect and each firmware revision seemed to change the behaviour. My only issue is that the dual wan function is quite quirky and that’s what I initially bought it for.

When your 4G Hub arrives in the post, you’ll be able to set it up simply by plugging it in at the wall.
