About this deal
But she's not the only Hollower who covets the ring and Tamsin is forced into an alliance with the last person she can trust, her rival Emrys. Tamsin is a likeable FMC and we do get a hint of enemies-to-lovers here, but by far that is not the main focus.
Silver in the Bone - Goodreads
But after her thieving foster father disappeared without so much as a goodbye, it was the only way to keep herself—and her brother, Cabell—alive. The fantasy elements were easy to follow along with and I think the world that Alexandra Bracken built was really clear. Heady romance blooms between Tam and Emrys, but it’s pessimistic Tam’s rewarding journey toward hope, trust, and self-acceptance that serves as the story’s heart. I feel as if some descriptions are told too fast, and some other are too long without really explaining anything (the action scenes feel like this too).I will be reading Lore at some point soon, so I can truly figure out if it’s Alexandra Bracken’s writing I don’t like—or just this particular book. I think I’ll still continue with the series because there were a lot of twists at the end and I think the sequel could go in an interesting direction.

Fans of Lore will be excited to see Bracken’s dark take on Arthurian legend in this adrenaline-fueled contemporary fantasy. One day Iris receives a reply, which, along with other events, pushes her to make dramatic life decisions.Silver in the Bone is a YA urban fantasy inspired by Arthurian legend with epic battles, a unique found family, lies, betrayal, curses, romance, and so much more. His character is shrouded in mystery, and I am really questioning his actions and motives at this point, so I’m eager to see how his story and his romance with Tamsin play out. I could already sense the arc that was set up for him, a famous father in the magical world yet he needs to always be the best and exceed expectations. Although their bond is strong through troubled times, it is obvious how they’ve become different as their vulnerability shows throughout the novel.
