Here he relates his incredible journey from hardened criminal to discovering who he truly is in Christ; from helping to destroy lives through drug dealing, to helping others and saving lives through selflessly serving those in poverty.His long and painful journey to recovery began at a subsequent meeting for drug and alcohol addicts, as he put his faith in God. It was then Mick discovered he had dyslexia and a sight problem, which is now helped by wearing dark glasses.

Pastor Mick Fleming had a traumatic childhood which threw him into the criminal underworld at a young age. I felt at that moment that the God who I had shouted out to had answered that prayer because the gun didn't fire.

Instead of murdering him, as he had long fantasised about, Mick helped the man recover from his alcoholism and reunite with his family.
