About this deal

From the table, you’ll notice that the V7’s hard floor performance is in the low 90s. It’s skewed by the low score with the Quaker oats test. Aside from that, it did well in other trials.

So the V8 is a better option if you’re looking to clean a larger home. Can you replace the Dyson V7 and V8 battery? The difference is only minimal in the default setting. You’ll notice in the chart that the V7 has almost as much airflow at the wand and nozzle. The results in the airflow test are consistent with the cleaning experiments as the V7 does surprisingly better on carpets, which we’ll go into next. How do the Dyson V7 and V8 clean? The colors mentioned above are highlighted on the wand, cleaning head, and also the main unit. Accessories, Tools and Attachments As usual, we test all the vacuums we review, and the Dyson V8 was no exception. We tested only the models available in the US, and these are the Dyson V8 Animal, Animal, and Absolute. The Animal and V7 do not feature a HEPA filter, though the Motorhead is a good option for stair cleaning. Compared to the Animal and Fluffy, the Motorhead is less powerful. But both models have a mini motorized tool for stairs. The Animal has a lightweight design, while the Motorhead is best suited for cleaning rooms and stairs. These two vacuum cleaners are best used with a dust-free environment.

Dyson V8™ Overview

All the Dyson V8 variants come with a direct-drive cleaning head making them ideal for vacuuming carpets and embedded dirt. It pushes the stiff nylon bristles into the carpet pile, flushing out the hidden dirt, and dust particles. Every single Dyson product has a design aesthetic that’s very appealing, and the same philosophy applies to the V8 as well.

Spec comparison

You’re probably wondering: “What’s the difference between a Dyson VS. an animal?” The Dyson V8 motorhead can handle medium and low-pile carpets, but it won’t get the job done quite as well on low-pile carpets. Those photos don’t show the plowing effect of the motorhead’s direct drive. And while the motorhead will clean a lot of coffee grounds, which are fine, the V8 didn’t do so well on medium and low-pile carpets. Dyson v8 motorhead As mentioned before, the V8 comes with a bunch of accessories, including a telescopic tube that’s perfect for general use. Every tool clips easily on and off the main handheld unit, even with one hand. The standard direct-drive head is great on pretty much any surface, but if you happen to buy the V8 Absolute, you’ll get a Soft Roller cleaning head that’s the best option for hard floors. You get a transparent 0.54L dustbin that makes up the bulk of the handheld unit, with 15 small cyclone cones arranged in a two-tier flower shape in front of it. It weighs 3.5lbs/1.6kg with no attachments, and at its heaviest, it weighs 5.6lbs/2.6kg (with the wand and main cleaning head attached). For a household vac, that’s pretty lightweight, but it’s a little on the heavier side when considering comparable handheld vacs for car cleaning. When it comes to filtration, the vacuums have been designed with two washable HEPA filters– a pre-motor filter in the middle of the cyclonic system, and a post-motor filter behind the motor. While these filters ensure that air is free from dust, bad odor, and allergens, they enhance the durability and efficiency of the motor. Unlike other models, this one doesn’t clog at all.
