Crafting can only happen at specific times. In between quests, or in the presence of an Alchemist’s Bench. This is interesting, now furniture finally has a purpose other than just sitting there, looking pretty. Don’t get me wrong, it still looks pretty, but it’s nice to have some interaction now. I think there is already going to be a lot of plastic in this expansion. There’s the new Knight, Several new Elven characters, possible Cultists or Wizard type enemies, and we can’t forget Sir Ragnar. I doubt they’ll include more than one sculpt for the Specter. Any named specters, we’ll probably still have to use the Dread Sorcerer! I really appreciate the “HOMEBREW” section on the interface. This allows you to link your own custom assets to the builder via URL. For instance, if I have a unique monster that I use, I can create my own icon, upload it to Imgur, and then link it in hQuestBuilder. This feature is a bit limited at the moment. We can only use assets that use 1 grid space on the map, hopefully this challenge will be overcome in a future update. HeroQuest: Rise of the Dread Moon Review – A Deep Delve

Rise of the Dread Moon adds new gameplay elements to the base HeroQuest set. This includes 29 miniatures, such as the Magus Guard shown here.This tactic of hitting and running went on for 5 more rounds. Ultimately, the Barbarian died on round 10, the Guardian Knight died on round 12, and the Elf finally fell on round 13. This tabletop game expansion comes with 29 detailed miniatures, including furniture, Elven Warriors, Dread Cultists, Specters, a Dread Wraith, and more As we know, crafting materials will be available to create potions. How will this work and how to our Heroes collect these materials. The Barbarian immediately engages the Magus Guard and manages to get 2 hits on them. The Guardian Knight also engages the Magus Guard, but misses. The Elf decides to stay where she is to protect the Wizard, she casts Sleep on the Assassin closest to her. The Wizard, following the Elf’s instructions to stay put, doesn’t move. HeroQuest was a smash hit for tabletop gaming, as well as becoming a gateway to tabletop roleplaying games like Dungeons & Dragons for millions of players. The game also influenced later tabletop board games that came after, including Games Workshop’s own Warhammer Quest, board games based on D&D, and recent games such as Monster Hunter World: Iceborne.

The release of Rise of the Dread Moon expansion adventure set for HeroQuest was shared by Avalon Hill and Hasbro on their official social media channels. Their is a potion of defense which has the “crafted” keyword but no potion of dexterity with the “crafted” keyword. I’ve spent the last day and a half going through the notes, here’s my review, so far, of Rise of the Dread Moon. Doing a bit of digging, I managed to determine the origin of the image. It popped up briefly during the Hasbro Investor Day 2022 Virtual Event which was livestreamed. As with every quest book, we start off with a message from Mentor. We are told that not everything is as it seems in the Elven kingdom of Elethorn. From the outside, all would seem well. The Princess has been saved, there are festivities going on in celebration of this. It would seem that the conflict has ended.In my initial playtest with the Specter, I concluded that they didn’t seem like as much of a threat as we initially thought. I think I was wrong. I’m going to get into some more playtesting later, but this new piece of information is a bit of a game changer I think. Why wouldn’t they!? If I was a designer, working on HeroQuest, I would probably do that too! The Assassin, seeing it’s chance, swings at the Barbarian, nearly taking him out. The Barbarian is left with 1 remaining Body Point.

The value of some potion reagents has fluctuated in this war-torn economy, so you may see some changes to the gold coin value of some of our potions. The program has an icon set for the three different styles of HeroQuest, this created a bit of a challenge when adding the assets for The Frozen Horror. The Frozen Horror was originally released in the North American market, there were no classic icons for the European style, they had to be converted from the classic NA icons. I’m insistent that everything should have the graphics for the old EU and US styles as well as HQ21 – which does mean 3 times the work when I add new tiles – but I don’t want to exclude those who have been with the game as long as I have, and may prefer that nostalgic look, or even still play using the OG set. The ingredients themselves appear to be part of the treasure cards. When searching for treasure, a Hero may be able to find reagent ingredients. The Avalon Hill post gives us some information about a new monster we will encounter in Rise of the Dread Moon. The Specter!
