About this deal

Just finished opening my full set. This is an extraordinary group of figs. I'm disappointed that I didn't get a full box rather than just the 12. They're that good. That newsie and his wonderful cap are sure to find a loving home within a Peaky Blinders-MOC. For a MOC with the Aristocrat, well, how hard can it be to make a LEGO-guillotine?

And I’ll be forever disappointed in any airport display that doesn’t include at least one koala ominously clutching the landing gear of a plane that’s about to take off. I always love when Collectible Minifigures series include characters from eras where we’re unlikely to ever get full LEGO sets or themes, and the Rococo Aristocrat is a perfect example. I can hardly imagine LEGO making a Louis XV theme, yet here we are with a noblewoman straight out of Versailles. My wife is convinced she’s based on Carlota from the 2004 Phantom of the Opera movie, and I have to admit there’s a stunning resemblance. She features the second-ever use of the 2×4 footprint dress piece, which previously was exclusive to the Queen in Series 15. This character includes some neat details. Firstly, you get new exercise attire. Interestingly, it features the same branding we’ve seen in City sets before. I really like the carry-over and consistency. Secondly, the character has a double-sided face, each with a little microphone. This look is great for a referee, but also for pop-singer. Consequently, the character offers good customization potential. Finally, you acquire a soccer ball without having to buy the Table Football set. She may say that to you. But, I have a sneaking suspicion that the spaceman may also have some connection to her cool dad, AP.Ironically, that’s also the hand you’d hold a bow with, as the leather would protect your forearm from being chafed by the bowstring when you release an arrow. It’s also got to be challenging to fire a bow with a few pounds of squawky raptor clenched on one arm… Technically it should be Farmers’ Market… as the farmers is plural (a market for multiple farmers) but as it is “theirs” then it’s possessive so the apostrophe should be after the s as it’s farmers’s market… so second s is dropped I think the Classic Spaceman with the baby is a Mandalorian reference, which makes the brown colour apporpriate. These are super easy to feel for if you want to be freaky in your local store one last time before we are all banished by the box. My feeling advice is below. The Rococo Aristocrat is another of my favorites from Minifigures Series 24. I love the old Castles theme, so any Minifigure that goes well with those sets is a hit for me. This character goes well in any Castles court scene, perhaps even sitting the throne as the Queen herself. Additionally, I love novel concepts, and we have not seen a character like this in past Minifigures Series.

But what really brings it home for me are the Football Ref and the Newspaper Kid, the latter winning first prize. I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.Lime was the first color to pop in my head for the next CS fig. Maybe dark red, dark blue or dark green?

I’m in the middle of building a modified 40516 Everyone is Awesome with classic space guys. Brown is my missing colour, so this wonderful for me! Another, more recent, Castle faction is represented by the Orc. Trolls appeared in various sets from the Fantasy Era subtheme, distinguished by their sand green skin, pronounced lower teeth and rugged equipment. Olive green replaces sand green for this minifigure, although the leather straps and updated Troll emblem are recognisable from the faction introduced in 2007.I think the only notable weakness of the minifigure are the legs, which could perhaps have been triple-moulded. This technique has represented shorts and shoes on shorter legs, so I hope the same can be applied to standard legs in the future. Naturally, the referee is equipped with yellow and red cards, together with a printed football. And I’d be remiss if I didn’t include the full rainbow as it can be completed right now. Airtanks and an old-school helmet in purple are coming in another 2023 set that I don’t have my hands on yet, but brown makes the eleventh color for the classic space torso, and is the sixth color to be added in the last decade (along with green, purple, pink, orange, and light-bluish grey).
