The Transporter’s main compartment isn’t flashy (there are a few features), it’s mostly just a big space to put all of your stuff. I tend to chop and change travel bags frequently, as I’m never satisfied with one aspect or another. Well I won’t be buying one to replace this for a long long time. In fact, I’d go as far as recommending using this bag as a duffel at least 75% of the time… if not more!

Thanks to its double-coated 840-denier nylon with a TPU coating on each side, the Transporter does an excellent job of repelling water. What we don’t: No over-the-shoulder strap and some might not like the non-traditional duffel style.

But the Osprey name is evident in its functional performance and innovation and that’s why one would pay for it. As a sports bag the Transporter 65L has a deceptive amount of space. That means you won’t have to struggle to stuff your towel, change of clothes, etc. and worry about crushing your lunch or whatever slightly more fragile item. This has its virtues for travel too. Recycled Polyester, DWR Coating, Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU), YKK Zippers, Duraflex Hardware, ITW Hardware Like on its other products, Osprey splashes its name around this bag. Look for a 2.5-inch logo in the top center of the bag’s front. The Osprey name is also on the straps and plastic zipper pulls. Another logo without the name is on the bag’s rear, and Transporter is printed in all caps at the bottom of the front of the bag. You never know when someone walking past will want to know what bag you’re sporting and be too shy to ask. A fabric tab at the rear says Global Carry-On. Duffels advertised as “water-resistant” are designed to keep your belongings protected from light rain and soggy ground. These models often cover their durable ripstop fabric with a laminate that keeps moisture from soaking in (often a DWR treatment or something similar). A DWR treatment certainly is a nice feature for everyone using a duffel: The weather is unpredictable when traveling, you never know when your duffel might be sitting on the tarmac for a few extra minutes, and it’s super helpful for outdoor use. In addition, some bags have flaps covering the zippers, which can be a point of weakness. Water-resistant gear does have limitations: It should work well in light-to-moderate precipitation but eventually will soak through. A DWR coating and/or water-resistant main fabric is key for outdoor environments

The high-quality zippers are easy to grasp, opening and closing seamlessly. They’re not the kind to malfunction or break easily. Whether you want to travel the world, carry your gear, or just have a bag that can withstand a zombie apocalypse – the Transporter 95 is all of the above.If you are a hiker or camper who likes to trek 9 miles into the woods to find a camping spot – look elsewhere. It’s important to remember that this bag is water-resistant and not waterproof. While it will protect your belongings if you get caught in a rainstorm we can promise it won’t be as effective if you submerge it with water. As we’ve mentioned, the Osprey Transporter is a duffel bag first, and it’s made of some incredibly durable materials (more on this in a bit).
