As for fitment, I guess they just push over the screw stud that is peeping out the heat shield, and has lots of rust on its surface? Apply tiger seal to car body and exhaust shield, and push a ‘washer’ over the stud with a small amount of tiger seal. The info about the tabs is useful. There are 3 rusty 'bits' which I could not identify which I now know are the remains of the tabs.

Just found this. The hole in heat shield is bigger. Like the heat shield has been pulled out over the remaining clip. I scraped out all the iron oxide rust and the hole in the heat shield is a circle, like it has always been that size. The heat shield looks in good condition. I've got some washers that will cover it though. Make a couple of big square washers from a bean tin, folded a couple of times and a small hole made with a nail. This then grips the stud. sorry to be bringing up an old thread, but I think my heat shield is rattling. I thought at first it was my a/c compressor since the rattle comes & goes and I thought that the heat from the a/c compressor was causing the rattle.Anyone replaced their heat shield clips recently? Sounded like exhaust was falling off, but after prodding around it was a clip that was corroded. Others didn't look too healthy, neither. I have searched and an old thread showed a part number BRISKODA is owned and operated by Summit 360 Ltd, registered in England & Wales, company number 05710517.

Fix depends on whether its the heatshield that's corroded away around the fixing, or the fixing that's corroded away or fallen off. If it's the former, just make a plate out of anything you like with a small hole in the middle and sandwich the heatshield under/above that.
