The OSD itself is sharp and easy to navigate, though its text is quite small, and it’s placed way down at the bottom right corner of the display. Being a rather large display, this makes the OSD a bit un-ergonomic to navigate as you have to hunch down to read it. But it’s just the OSD, and it’s not like you’ll spend a ton of time there anyway. The Dell U3219Q which is more or less the same monitor can be had for less, although it is not as available now since it’s a 2019 model. Overall, it’s a decent buy, but there are more capable monitors out there like Dell’s Collaboration monitors that include a more capable 4K variant.The Dell P3222QE monitor supports software management using the Dell Display Manager utility. With it, you can adjust the brightness and contrast, select the settings mode for individual applications, or customize the window layout according to user preferences. Caution: Dell P3222QE setup must comply with the recommended panel orientation and working angle only. Setting up the monitor in an orientation that is not recommended may damage the monitor or cause a safety hazard. The stand has a noticeable heft to it, and comes with all the essential features we expect on Dell stands: Height adjustments, tilt, swiveling, and rotating to portrait – this is essential on productivity monitors for achieving an ergonomic, healthy posture. This USB-C hub also uses the monitor’s lone USB-C port as its upstream port, which means that if you have two PC sources, those two sources cannot utilize the same peripherals. It seems like a massive oversight on Dell’s part, especially because productivity often means multi-tasking. All the essential controls are there, including brightness and contrast settings, various preset color modes, and a handful of device settings. For inputs, there is even an option to rename the inputs, which is nice if you wanted to, say, name the USB-C port to ‘Laptop,’ DisplayPort to Desktop, and HDMI to Console, for example. Image quality All parts of the Dell P3222QE monitor are connected to each other with minimal gaps. The case does not lend itself to twisting, but it crunches and creaks a little when compressed and when simply moving the model from place to place. The painting of the elements is uniform, the processing of the edges of the parts is not satisfactory. The gaps between them are minimal and uniform along the entire length of the joints.We guess they just never meant for this to be a multi-source monitor, which is such a missed opportunity, especially at such a high price. Access to the service menu was not found. The monitor turned on with any familiar key combination (for this series of displays), but nothing new appeared on the screen.
