About this deal

story. Easily the most sexually graphic book in the trilogy, Score punctuated the intense connection between these two characters with very raw, unfiltered interactions, both sexual and nonsexual, to help the reader really get a grasp of all they’re going through and have been through. Here we have runaway homeless bride appears in small town and conveniently gets everything handed to her by hero man child Knox & is told she is the best thing that ever happened to him ,even though she constantly gets herself in to trouble and needs things. Bearded, bad-boy barber Knox prefers to live his life the way he takes his coffee: Alone. Unless you count his basset hound, Waylon. Knox doesn't tolerate drama, even when it comes in the form of a stranded runaway bride. Love you, baby.” She slipped out of my grasp, and I watched her follow the women into the dining room, her dress flowing around her ankles. I love you, Knox. And I’m never going to stop being grateful for everything you are and all that you’ve done.”

He was Jekyll and Hyde, gaslighting and mistreating her over and over and yet she still fell in love. Then breaks her heart and leaves...just like he said he would, and has the nerve to sulk! Out of concern Nash asked his brother as to why he broke things off, and Knox replied with, “Problem...with you helping yourself to my leftovers? Nah. Better she didn’t go to waste.” We hadn’t even had time to get their rooms ready when the call came. Three-year-old Bridget and her brand-new baby sister, Gillian. Nooooooo, but that's not stereotypical enough. A sunshine character is quirky!!! She loves coffee! She can't remember where she parked her car! She is so entertaining!! Did I mention she LOOOOOOOOOOVES coffee? Oh I didn't? Don't worry, the author will make her groan and pout 22 times while she's thinking about coffee before chapter 10, and that is just soooooooooo sexy.

So why did I give it 3 stars? Because I think it’s well written and it could be an overall a good time for most people, objectively, this wasn’t an awful book, it definitely wasn’t what I would consider a good story but the elements were there. Lucian Rollins is on a mission to erase the stain his father left behind on their family name, starting with building an invulnerable empire. But not everything is completely impervious to outside forces, least of all Lucian when faced with a sassy small-town librarian. Pretend You’re Mine is narrated from the point of view of the two lead characters: Luke Garrison and Harper Wilde. It’s an addictive light read featuring a multitude of dialogues. The plot focuses on the romance of the protagonists, but when we are advanced in the story, you will get good surprises because several turns appear that will have you even more hooked. Regarding the characters, the protagonists are very well crafted, and in the end, we see a clear development. Additionally, the story would not be the same without the secondary characters that contribute many things to the novel and enable the readers to get a better understanding of the main characters.

I’ve read several Lucy Score books but this is by far the best I’ve read yet! I had such a good time reading this story. It was the perfect mix of fun, sweet, emotional, and just a bit suspenseful. I almost forgot that one of Knox's main character traits is that he won the lottery. And when it's first mentioned, they talk about how Knox was smart with his money and didn't blow it all on random things, so he's still a millionaire today. But throughout the entire book, Knox is so stupid with money. He quite literally throws his money at people to buy their affection. He likes to use his money to try and control people and resorts to bribery to get his way. And I'm supposed to believe this is a guy who is smart and benevolent with his money? Nope. unrealistic dialogue from the male friends of hero who literally stage an intervention trying to convince H that shes the best thing that ever happened to him

Christmas Cards & Gift Wrap

This could have been an ok, sweet story if she just had dialed it down a notch, had not repeated herself 300 times and written normal, down-to-earth characters. Score does a beautiful job describing the characters, the setting, and the feelings of those involved. I feel that reading her books is a very immersive experience. Lucian Rollins is a lean, mean vengeance-seeking mogul. On a quest to erase his father’s mark on the family name, he spends every waking minute pulling strings and building an indestructible empire. The more money and power he amasses, the safer he is from threats. A hot, short-term fling with a local cop? Absolutely. Sign her up. A relationship with a man who expects her to plant roots? No freaking way.
