It took at least 30 miles before I was familiar with how it handled. I experienced tightness in my obliques for probably the first time ever and it was not particularly fun. The Brooks Adrenaline family is made up of great stability shoes. They also offer runners a real correction to pronate or supinate steps. The Adrenaline GTS 19 swaps the medial-post for a set of ‘guide rails’ borrowed from the Transcend. Treat the Brooks Ravenna 10 as an ‘Adrenaline Lite.’ The new Ravenna 10 has smaller Guide Rails over a single-density midsole. It’s got a lighter build which weighs 1.5 lower and has a snugger upper with an inner sleeve. I wanted to run in them long after my review miles. Together with the Adrenaline, they would make an ideal running rotation.

The front and mid-upper section are very comfortable and very spacious. This extra space has caused some runners to complain about their feet not being held as tight as they think it should be. Its engineered mesh is spot on. The soft mesh of the engineered vamp provided the shoe with a nice roomy toe-box that is very breathable and feels good. The same blown rubber used in Brooks’ offerings is used in the Glycerin GTS. This is a less dense and softer blown rubber compared to others.Now, Brooks has once again come up with an innovation in the Adrenaline GTS 19 model with the new Guard Rails Holistic Support System technology.

The engineered fit case on the heel cup has a padded ankle area as well as a rubber heel protection. These innovations allow you to feel comfortable in every stride while feeling secure in your ankle and Achilles tendon. Midsole of the Adrenaline GTS 19 Starting alphabetically, the adidas Solar Glide ST is a much softer shoe but has something in common with the GTS. Its midsole has raised edges which adidas calls ‘Solar propulsion rails’– but they serve a similar function as the GuideRail. Everyone’s gait is slightly different, but there are four main types of running styles and pronation:The Adrenaline GTS 19 has changed so much that it might alienate runners who liked the medially-posted Adrenaline. Otherwise, the ride is very comfortable – the cushioned midsole resembles that of the Ghost, just without the Guide Rails. This does two things: first, it increases the flexibility of the shoe and second, it isn’t as durable. They showed some wear after 75 miles, not drastic wear, but noticeable.

There is a simplified look to the upper which means fewer 3d printed overlays. Because of this there are no points of irritation for your feet. The upper features a dual layer air mesh material that is breathable, flexible, and durable. It adapts and molds to your feet resulting in an incredibly comfortable fit. At the same time, if you like the feel of a medial post under the foot, look past the Adrenaline in favor of medially posted shoes like the Saucony Guide ISO 2 or New Balance 860V9. This major update alters the Adrenaline’s character at a fundamental level. And just how? That’s what this review is about. Brooks doesn’t want you to think this new system corrects your stride and instead gently guides you along. I didn’t buy this because it sure felt like my stride was being corrected on every strike!If the Glycerin GTS 19 is an indicator of what’s to come, it is only going to strengthen that loyalty. Even without the Guide Rails, the Adrenaline is stable. The DNA Loft crash pad makes the lateral side firmer than the 18. The single-density forefoot is also cushioned and supportive. Sure you could find more cushioning or responsiveness in a max stability trainer, but I doubt you will find one that is a more comfortable and smoother ride than the Brooks Glycerin GTS 19. The heel also changes its lining material, using a smooth mesh over plenty of functional foam padding. There are no hot spots, and the upper holds the foot securely during runs. DURABILITY ASSESSMENT It’s not that the stability shoes were (initially) created to generate additional business.
