About this deal

Gamer Network Limited, Gateway House, 28 The Quadrant, Richmond, Surrey, TW9 1DN, United Kingdom, registered under company number 03882481. The emphasis wasn’t on local multiplayer so much anymore, friends would instead meet in online lobbies. I may have gone in too hot headed when starting this article; it wasn’t a terrible game, it was just bang average and a massive disappointment to the legacy of the franchise. Micro Machines World Series received "mixed or average" reviews, according to review aggregator Metacritic, partially due to its lack of career mode and spotty online multiplayer. CUSTOMISABLE VEHICLE CAST: An array of amazing miniature vehicles, each with its own unique load-out of weapons and abilities plus a massive range of customization options!

COOL INTERACTIVE PLAY-SETS: Teleporters, catapults, giant fans, etc add even more fun and will ensure no two races are the same! Micro Machines World Series tried to combine a racing game with a hero shooter roster of characters. Familiar weapons from Toybox, the Tommy Gun, the Hammer and the Mines are rebranded as Nerf products, while countless Nerf guns litter the tracks and arenas. Grab your NERF blaster, try to avoid the jam, and unleash miniature multiplayer mayhem onto the world!

The classic mode of driving far enough ahead to get your opponents off the screen is here, now given that classic racing game mode title of Elimination.

There are some positives in that during a close race when no one is pulling away, the screen zooms in so that you only need to be leading a small amount to get the win; stops things dragging on, which is a good thing for this game. While prepping for this review I went back and tested both Toybox and the original Micro Machines and the handling in World Tour is actually much closer to the friction free Mega Drive original than it is to the more chunky feel of Toybox. The all-new Battle Arenas will allow you to wreak mass destruction on a miniature scale against your friends or the AI. Maybe I'm just an old fuddy duddy now but I honestly struggled to see the outline of the track in all of the tracks we played.

Micro Machines World Series is a racing video game developed and published by Codemasters for Microsoft Windows, OS X, Linux, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. They also complain about there being no local multiplayer race option and that the single player mode is a massive let down. This was one of my all time favourite games as a younger gamer, hours spent with friends racing each others VW Bug Caravan around a pool table, to jump onto the kitchen table. The online portion works well enough - quickmatch will attempt to put you in lobby with as many human players as possible, but will plug the gaps with AI characters if necessary so there's always a full match and you're never left waiting too long for a game.Micro Machines World Series will retain the manic social game play of the classic series, but will bring a new dimension to the experience with stunning HD visuals - taking you to the much-loved household environments as they've never been seen before. With the emphasis here firmly fixed on Battle Mode, fan favourites like Elimination mode and the standard races play second fiddle and feel like afterthoughts. Each of the 12 vehicles has its own unique loadout of weapons and abilities and the game will launch with a massive range of customisation options. Again in fairness, we had fun playing the game for an hour or so, but sadly I have no inclination to play it again.
