I already have a router for my router table, this will be for inlays, edge routing on large projects, and other things. The body grip keeps it extremely well balanced for use with one hand and when you do dovetails using the knobs also keep it well balanced. Not enough to change my rating though, since all it took was a little compressed air around the switch to get it working again. The things so quiet compared to other routers that I get concerned it’s not getting very high rpm’s . I noticed it sounded like the router was trying to adjust the RPM/speed and then would just turn off.

I've also routed several through and half-blind dovetails on my Rockler jig, again, with no issues with bit wander. To reduce the risk of serious injury and/or damage to your Festool product, always read, understand and follow all warnings and instructions in your Festool product's Instruction Manual. It slides and locks easily into both the fixed and plunge bases, and has a flat top, which makes changing bits that much easier. I already am thinking a second router for through dovetails, or at least a motor for the plunge base I already have. This isn't possible with the routers featuring the dust collection and dust shields, because of the limit these place on plunge depth with multiple passes.My next project after this is to make my Bosch Colt with plunge base into a "quasi domino machine" and have it ride along the back of the rail as a guide and then set up "stops" using custom made stops that will use the LR32 rail to set them up at the precise width of mortise that I need.

My only complaint is that you cannot leave the guide locking screws in the fixed base of the router when storing in the case. I can’t get the depth of the bit to be exactly what I want unless I DON’T use the fine adjustment feature of the router. Hi all, space I was able to adjust my Bosch 1617 router to fit the Festool lr32 system here are a couple of pictures of how I did it. My Bosch hasn ’t seen a lot of use in 10 years, but has had two visits to the hospital to have the speed control replaced.At this time, I'm not in a position to acquire any of the Festool router and I really like my Bosch 1617.
