It reminds me of afternoons spent fishing with my Dad during the summer holidays which was boring at the time holds a great deal of nostalgia now. Great easy read, very funny in parts as you'd expect with Bob and Paul chatting away as they do on the TV show, diving deeper into their friendship and how they came about fishing together, the history of fishing and certain types of fishing was also interesting, I couldn't put the book down!

I am not a fan of angling, having had a bad experience on my one and only fishing trip in my childhood, but I found the book entertaining, sprinkled throughout with the duo’s anarchic humour.

My brain issues the true standard answer and then thinks, well, that’s a bit boring, what would be more interesting? Both are old, both are ill, they are slightly cynical: so can they still find pleasure in something that gave them so much when they were young? The book of the deeply wholesome TV show, which inevitably overlaps with it in some respects while having a different focus in others. I don't like fishing but this is a lovely listen to two good friends who happen to be funny, warm and entertaining, even when the technical fishing instructions appear (not lot of them).
