It serves up a decent amount of brightness, enough to remain watchable even in brighter rooms, but it’s disappointing to find that the backlighting isn’t very even.
In terms of usability, the Fire TV interface does a lot right, but the JVC’s processor does struggle to keep it running smoothly. To be honest though - if you're concerned about things like processor speed and RAM, then you should really be avoiding JVC altogether. Seeing as JVC can't even be bothered to list either of those TVs on their own site, the only specs you're going to be able to get hold of will be on the Currys site. The stand is central – meaning you don’t have to worry about fitting the TV into spaces limited by width – and on the 49in model I reviewed it doesn’t add too much to the depth of the whole TV.
