About this deal

I think we know the answer to those questions, and Joe definitely knew the answer to two of these questions. These are pretty basic questions but in this novel issues are advanced through facebook postings, tweets, cellphone messaging and syncing. Or so it seems, and whilst niggling doubts force Joe to continually question the evidence and just what he is seeing, he is unable to turn back the clock and once the genie is of out the bottle the collateral damage is only a matter of time. While the premise of the book was interesting, it is also one that has been done many times over so I was looking for it to stand out in some way.

This book managed to shock, delight, and amaze this thriller-lover with every single turn in the plot. On the fateful day that Joe sees his wife's car entering an underground car park, and decides to follow her, his life will never ever be the same again. The longer the story progressed it is increasingly hard to believe that Melissa is ever being straight with Joe, despite her continued ascertains that she has disclosed everything any savvy reader will be yelling, “yeah, right.Let me preface this whole review by saying: I love a good plot twist, but I love it when that twist is done right. Would a dynamic businessman with his own highly profitable company really go off the radar as it appears that Ben has?

This is a fast paced, gripping thriller that I would gladly recommend to anyone who enjoys stories about every day people who get caught up in situations that they have no control over. As the reader I was frustrated by the ones that were supposed to frustrate me and I hated the ones I was supposed to hate, so kudos to Logan for that.

Though some issues with characters contained in the novel did hinder my enjoyment — slightly — readers looking for a clean and tidy thriller will likely find that this debut fits the bill. If you like psychological thrillers that are both relatable and compelling, I can assure you that this one will keep you turning those pages. I was lured into Joe's world from the first few chapters and the twists kept me absorbed until the end. So while I hate to say it yet again I think this is another title that just went on a bit too long in the middle focusing on one big lie and had it moved forward a bit faster it would have maintained my attention a lot better.

What starts as familiar psychological thriller territory with a split second decision results in unprecedented upheaval in the life of the Lynch family. And he’s not moving… Gripping, unputdownable and packed with twists and turns from the first page to the very last, this stunning psychological thriller will make you question whether we can ever really trust the ones we love. When Jo is driving home with son William and William spots his mothers car going into the carpark of a hotel Jo decides to follow her to see what she's up to. When Joe Lynch stumbles across his wife driving into a hotel car park while she's supposed to be at work, he's intrigued enough to follow her in.Lie’s is marred a little by several disappointing aspects, firstly the absolutely ludicrous and over the top police response. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Logan makes social media an indispensable piece of this thriller, and it’s one of the strongest selling points this story has to offer. Joe’s middle name should be “sucker” and leading ladies Mel and wife of Ben, Beth, just feel a little detached and removed from the emotion. It's not that I didn't like the twists and turns more just the constant use of them to close each chapter started to come across as cheesy rather than fun and jaw dropping.

I am beyond excited to have discovered this author, and now I’m even more excited to learn that he has another book out! Also Beth going on about how she needed her husband back she couldn't live without him after his affair. Had it not been for the final 40-odd pages of LIES, my final review of this thriller would look a whole lot different than the review you are currently reading. Fortunately, however, this is where the similarity between myself and our leading man Joe end — Because, in this novel, Joe has a pretty fucking shitty go of it. Ben is obviously still aggravated and one thing leads to another with Joe pushing Ben but just as he should see if Ben is alright his son has an asthma attack so Joe leaves.Much of LIES develops as we would expect it to: in the fallout of this troubling encounter, Joe discovers that everything he holds dearest in his life might be based on (true to the book’s title!
