With rye being a cornerstone to the Bulleit Bourbon recipe, Bulleit Rye had long been a dream of Tom Bulleit’s, as it was the next natural extension of the Bulleit brand. One day - in the 1830's - Augustus was transporting some precious barrels of his bourbon from Kentucky to New Orleans when he vanished along with his barrels of whiskey, presumably abducted. Sadly he was never found again and the surroundings of his dissapearance are still a mystery to this day.
