About this deal

This book is a wonder because it helps put emotions and moods into simple color terms the kids can grasp, helping them process and move on.

Based on a 2007 online poll, the National Education Association listed the book in its "Teachers' Top 100 Books for Children". My son does not tend to choose this at book reading time when it is next to so many more exciting looking books, for this reason. In 1993, a study was conducted on children’s emotional associations with colors and found that they had an early affinity with bright colors, having positive emotional connotations, and adversity with dark colors, having negative emotional connotations. My Many Colored Days intends to teach early elementary children that it is normal to experience different emotions on different days and even on the same day, which sometimes makes it hard to understand and express yourself. Works based on his original stories have won three Oscars, three Emmys, three Grammys, and a Peabody.a brilliant way to explain that we can feel different ways on different days, and associating that to a colour is great for youngsters.

I'm reading it with my 3year old and the no pressure no drama style means some days she wants to talk about feelings in the book and other days she'd rather just list the animals illustrated inside - and that's perfect for us as it provokes thought and discussion rather then force feeding information. We have had the odd conversation after reading it that reflects the colour of the day that we have had - or how we felt in colours when we fell out or did something fun. Bought for my gradaughter who’s 6 and had some medical treatment that was very difficult for her and I wanted a book about our feelings . I bought a copy because I was already familiar with it from the past having read my bros one when he was younger and he threw his copy out. Geisel saw his original text about feelings and moods as part of the "first book ever to be based on beautiful illustrations and sensational color".Seuss, Thedor Geisel also used the pen name Theo LeSieg (Geisel backwards) for books written by him, but illustrated by others. This popular series combined engaging stories with outrageous illustrations and playful sounds to teach basic reading skills. My Many Colored Days, published in 1996, reflects conversations within child psychology at the time. An innovative concept book that introduces children to colours, feelings and all the fun of Dr Seuss. There needs to be a shift from color preference, asking children questions like “What is your favorite color?

In 1957, Seuss’s The Cat in the Hat became the prototype for one of Random House’s best-selling series, Beginner Books. For instance, whereas the color black may indicate darkness and evil in western culture, it may represent good health or prosperity in some Asian cultures and masculinity in some Latin/South American and African cultures ( “Colours and Their Meanings Around the World”).That said, when we read it, my son is happy to discuss how he has been feeling and it prompts conversation about what he has done that day (when getting this info is like getting blood out of a stone usually)! In the aforementioned study, the child subjects were five to six years old, ages where children are easily influenced by authority figures. Yellow and pink days are happy like buzzing bees and jumping flamingos, directly in contrast to black days like mad and loud wolves, howling and growling at every cloud.
