About this deal

Lazy days, crazy nights and child-free hangovers sound like hedonistic heaven - but it turns out you can get into a hell of a lot of trouble on the party island where rules are meant to be broken.

I did not love the book and I confess I did skim read it towards the end, it was just too busy and there was not much depth to the main characters at all. If you’re prepared to relax the boundaries of right and wrong and allow some ever so convenient plot turns then this is a fun and frivolous read. The book took me a while to get on board as I could not stop thinking that Cara is not Sophie and Cara husband Dom in the book is not Steve her husband. Thank you to ED Pr and Harper North for having me on the blog tour and sending over copies of the book. This was an easy summer read, I think I would enjoyed it more had I been reading on a hot beach rather than a wet gloomy North West town! This is a book that pumps along at full velocity (much like the party beat on the island) and it sometimes feels relentless, with its often acute observations and lewd descriptions (get this one: Jac, now the colour of an angry penis about to go off….

I am a follower of Sophie and was so looking forward to this book, who doesn't love a crazy hen story? she is excited for a hen do to Ibiza when her best friend Jac gets engaged, but disappointed that the hen do won’t be for another 2 years.Absolutely fantastic and hilariously funny had me laughing all the way through and loved all the adventures of the mum's. Thought the plot was too slow to start (action actually starts at chapter 20) and the writing style was too lenghty and descriptive.

Welcome to a hen do where revenge is served colder than a frozen margarita… Cara Carmichael’s bestie is finally getting hitched, and she’s over the moon because it means one thing… Whoah, they’re going to Ibiza! Our protagonist, Cara Carmichael, is a relatable mess of a character, whose life has been flipped upside down by a philandering husband. I loved every second I spent devouring this book and I can’t wait to introduce it to so many more people. The story is chaotic and very busy, I do feel as though Sophie crammed in as many jokes/90's references as she could in pretty much every other sentence. I follow Sophie on Instagram, find her entertaining and realistic so was intrigued to read her first piece of fiction. It’s packed full of great characters, laugh out loud moments, banter, and possibly some of the worst cases of second hand embarrassment I’ve experienced, and it all adds up to be one hell of a book that I will be recommending to everyone that will listen to me. Sophie lives with her husband, two children, one on the way and a beagle with a taste for bin-diving.
