About this deal

On the throat-busting Wicked Ways and Psycho Crazy, her envelope-pushing performance is like that of a woman running from – or maybe towards – an avalanche. Ask any modern rock fan to name a few of the most powerful women in the genre today, and Lzzy Hale will likely be high on the list.

In the words of Chad Bowar of Metal Injection, "This album does a better job of getting closer to the energy and passion of the band's live shows than the last one [ Vicious] did. Give or take a Floor Jansen, Lzzy Hale owns the best voice in modern rock – but even she’s never sounded quite this enflamed. According to Ed Ford of Rock N' Load, "If people wanted to know what the perfect rock album sounds like, give this a blast, you won’t hear much better.

It’s Halestorm 101 and while it may not break new ground, you know exactly what to expect and Halestorm delivers. The album features the title track along with current single, “The Steeple” Halestorm has grown from a childhood dream of siblings Lzzy and Arejay Hale into one of the most celebrated rock bands of the last two decades. Fronted by the incomparable Lzzy Hale with drummer Arejay Hale, guitarist Joe Hottinger, and bass player Josh Smith, Halestorm has earned a reputation as a powerful live music force, headlining sold-out shows and topping festival bills around the world. Psycho Crazy" and "Raise Your Horns" are two more ragers, with fist-pumping choruses and an uber-heavy guitar attack.

Lzzy and her brother, drummer Arejay Hale, often site the towering, arena rock sounds of the '70s and '80s as inspirations, and that comes through on the release. Back From The Dead also marks Halestorm’s greatest album artwork to date as it’s evocative of their musical style and portrays the emotive frustrations of the last few years into a piece of visual art that would look incredible on the larger vinyl canvas. She was stuck with them due to lockdown despite them not being supportive, so she had conversations with Hale and other fans online. Back From The Dead is a killer blues-based hard rock opener that sets the tone for the entire album.Loaded with raw energy, captivating lyrics, and Lzzy Hale's signature powerhouse vocals, Back From The Dead stands as a fierce testament to the band's evolution and enduring spirit and is amongst the best albums released in 2022. Their response could have been a flailing mess, but it isn’t – it’s Halestorm in totality, an already great act building new rails to replace the ones we all ran off. Nevertheless, it’s wonderful to hear modern hard rock music recorded, mixed, and mastered so well, for it is the exception rather than the norm. The original album and deluxe edition both move from track to track well, with a good mix of hard-charging rock songs sprinkled with choice ballads.

While HALESTORM stick to their formula of easy-to-digest, relatively short rock songs — most under four minutes — on "Back From The Dead: Deluxe Edition", the songwriting and performance quality is top notch, proving why they're one of modern rock's most popular bands.

She truly has never sounded better and if Raise Your Horns doesn’t leave you impressed, you’re listening wrong for Hale is one of the greatest vocalists the world has ever known and even after all these years, she’s just getting started. Halestorm began working on their fifth studio album slightly before the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
