About this deal

The downside of this is you could argue it’s limited in sounds, Like we said above, you can’t do that wild crazy chorus Unless you leave it on Vibrato only. Where the CE-5 and CE-2w are perhaps at their best when used to create swirly thickness in your tone, the CH-1 gives you an edgier effect that’s great for lead work.

My best friend has had one of these for many years, so I knew what it sounded like; but of course I didn't bother to check his settings. From their legendary CE-1 chorus pedal (the big gray box that started it all) to the world's favorite line of compact pedals, they've been responsible for more guitar innovations than just about anyone else. Whether you are looking for natural chorus to a large, wide stereo chorus, CE-5 has all the tools you will need. The EQ function allows you to adjust the tonality from soft, mellow sounds to sharp, cutting sounds ideal for rhythm guitar. It has got a lot of great modulation effects on it, including at least three really good sounding chorus settings.

If your after a good sounding more subtle chorus for mostly overdrive tones then this is a good choice but if you're after something like a deep 80s sounding clean tone chorus then id say theres probably better options out there. A great Chorus pedal has to not only duplicate the sound of your guitar, making slight alterations to the duplicate signal, but it must also successfully balance the treble, bass, and mid-tones while adding some measure of vibrato. com, PhD in Chemical Oceanography, and most likely listening to Bad Religion or Blink 182 these days. Three years later, this inventive new sound was squeezed into the blue CE-2 Chorus, and chorus pedals have remained in the compact lineup ever since.

This is a solid built and great chorus pedal, however, I already own the boss Ce5 chorus Ensemble pedal which is far superior. That’s all well and good, but the CE-2 was discontinued in 1982, and although the CE-2w seeks to recreate that iconic sound, it’s far from the only option on the table.

The versatile Boss CH-1 SUPER Chorus produces the swirling chorus sounds heard on many rock, jazz, country, funk, and other popular music recordings. It has two 1/4" outputs to use either in mono or stereo and a buffered bypass which helps maintain signal integrity when using a long cable or in conjunction with other pedals with lots of patch cables. The CH-1 by Boss is a guitar chorus pedal that features a stereo output and 4 knobs to adjust your tone. Whether you want to get a natural chorus from the CE-5 or a more extroverted contemporary sparkle, it's all possible with the intuitive controls for LEVEL, RATE, DEPTH and FILTER.
