About this deal

I tell you if I can just have this 3000 watts and keep this 3000 watts I promise not to ask for any more power ever. A choice of LCD displays, but do be aware that the C961 allows up to 50km/h and the C965 allows 99km/h, max speed.

Plus using the sine wave Adappto the motor should run more efficient and cooler than running a Chinese square wave ebike controller.Batteries should be fully charged from time to time, but charging to 90% for most of the time is meant to be beneficial for battery longevity. Any reduced risk of controller failure is going to be minimal – in my experience it’s more down to the way the bike is ridden (e.g. constant throttle use on steep hills in the wrong gear). Looking at photos of the Schachner MM15 motor, it looks like a re-branded Tongsheng TSDZ2. I’ve studied the photos and it looks identical to a Tongsheng but with different branding. The Tongsheng motor uses a torque sensing pedal assist which measures pedalling force. The Bafang BBS01/02 uses a cadence sensor which measures pedal rotation. The Bafang is a fairly good motor and comparable to the Tongsheng for reliability. The Bafang generally provides stronger assist (when compared with the Tongsheng). Parts availability is good for both motors and both can be easily serviced or repaired by a competent DIY enthusiast. You have a range of pedal assist levels. It can be 0-3, 0-5 or 0-9. I recommend 0-9 for more fine tuned control.

The Bafang BBSHD 1000w produces considerably more torque than its smaller siblings, the controller will handle up to 30A of continuous current all day, and the motor internals are much more robust. Keeps me working, but not too hard … unless thats what I want, and then it has to let me do that, too. The Bafang BBSHD mid-drive motor conversion kit is one of, if not the, most powerful conversion kit you can buy. With its 30A controller, you can squeeze more than 1500 watts of power out of this brutal machine! With this amount of power, you can reach incredible speeds, climb any hill, and accelerate like no other ebike can. In this review, I will tell you all the things to like and not to like about Bafang’s flagship BBSHD mid-drive motor conversion kit. Modifying kit bikes are in many ebikers blood same as some guys like to hot rod their cars. Until recently you could not buy an ebike kit with decent power. A lot of guys spend a lot of time on endless-sphere searching for the holy grail of electric bikes that we know can never be bought ready-to-ride. So what is the holy grail of ebikes? Thats an easy equation: The holy grail of electric bikes

Price to Build

These manuals include how to get into the settings and advanced settings menus to change various parameters. The motor is built to take much more than the 30A that it is limited to. In fact, Luna Cycle sell controllers that can handle 60A and up to 72V like this one here! The BBSHD motor is waterproofed for normal UK use. In other words they are fine with rain, frost, snow and mud. However it is not designed to be submerged in water.

My recommendation would be: if you want the cheapest option -> C965, if you want the nicest looking display -> P850C, DPC18, or 860C, if you want the smallest, most discrete display -> SW102. How big should my chainring be? This is all you need to swap out your aging BBS01 or BBS02 with the latest and greatest drive unit from Bafang, the BBSHD 750w.With a Rated power of 1000W and Max Torque 160 N.m it is sure to please anyone looking for a mid-drive for off road riding on trails, beaches, hilly terrain, etc. BUT it also leaves a hair of rotation which you can use to your advantage when shifting gears: Stop pedaling and in that instant execute your shift. The shadow of remaining power and rotation will be enough to gently complete the shift (SRAM gears will shift in about 1/4 rotation) and you can start pedaling again almost instantly. I call this a ‘stutter step’ in my cadence and I personally prefer it to using a Gear Sensor which automates the process. Tomato-tomahto. Depends on how you learned to use the drive as to which you like better. Current Decay Unless you sandblast it. That might kill it. Feel free to test it and let me know your findings. My terrible battery shield. So nobody steals my battery 🙂 How It Rides
