About this deal

The entire idea behind this story is one that I should have loved, unfortunately I ended up rather bored with the story fairly early on and found it just confusing to read.

Step into the world of Casham High where the lives of three people - Eve, Nate, and Addie - intersect in unexpected ways. Author Freida McFadden has rendered another fast-paced, addictive thriller readers will find nigh on impossible to put down.

Robbins use[s] anecdotes from her subjects’ professional and private lives, interviews with others in the profession, and in this case her own experience working as a substitute at a middle school, to illustrate the myriad challenges teachers face.

Through structured lessons, stimulating focus texts and engaging practice activities, children not only learn the correct terminology and usage of grammar and punctuation, but also build up the skills, knowledge and confidence to apply them successfully in their own writing. To begin with I admit I found myself confused each chapter introduces new characters, so by the half way mark there were an array of characters that I found difficult to keep tabs on, but then it happened! Maybe I missed something along the way, but the teacher aspect of the book comprised one chapter - the first one. This is a novel about revenge and it’s very justified too, given what those who are horribly murdered in this book inflicted upon their helpless victims. The ending is good and creates more questions that have you thinking after you’ve finished the book.An encouraging and uplifting read, capturing how teachers find ways to rise and meet the many challenges they face… Robbins captures not just the human reality of teaching, but the ways in which teaching is a deeply human endeavor, centering on the best of what human beings can be. The Teachers is a must read… It’s an extraordinary work that combines broad scope, tight focus, telling details, and the voices of dozens and dozens of actual teachers. Hudson was Addie's only friend for years - they both had drunk dads and not much money - but then Hudson got swole and started playing football and is now super popular. It is a beautiful testimony to the men and women who shape the next generation of Americans, usually without the public support and resources they need and deserve. Surprise, now there is the looming affair of Addie and the hottest of the hottest teachers, Nate, looming on the horizon.

Addie gets bullied a bunch by a girl named Kenzie Montgomery - a popular cheerleader who is also (supposedly, but as it turns out way later is NOT) dating Addie's old BFF, Hudson Jankowski. This book will not only make you smarter about the state of American teachers, but it will ignite you to act. It's not like I have anything to worry about, and I know things like this probably really do happen more often than we know, but this is very inappropriate behavior. Alexandra Robbins is the author of five New York Times bestsellers and the Best Nonfiction Book of the Year (Goodreads Choice Awards). Hot Nate and Addie talk again after a Reflections meeting, and he lets her know that he got her out of trouble with his mean wife. So, I'll just chill over here in outlier land, which is perfectly fine because I enjoy hanging out with my delightful self. The headmaster is the only one that knows the meaning of the book and results in him being found hanging in the assembly hall of the school. In this eminently readable book, Willingham takes findings from cognitive science and applies them to the classroom in a straightforward and practical way. She wakes up to a loud crash and worries someone is breaking in to steal her LOUBOUTINS because that is rational and because LOUBOUTINS haven't been mentioned for a few chapters.
