About this deal

While the weight limit is the same for the Maxi and Mini buggy boards, the mini version suits lighter weight pushchairs, such as strollers, better. It’s slimmer than the maxi version, with all round smaller dimensions. Lascal has produced a good quality, solid board, with a non-slip surface to help your child travel safely. It can be hooked out of the way when not in use for short periods or you can completely remove it with ease. You shouldn’t need any additional tools to attach your buggy board, and Lascal provide arm extenders to suit different pram and pushchair types and sizes. Once it’s attached, you can trim the straps on your pushchair, although this will mean you can’t use it somewhere else, for example if you wanted to switch it to a lightweight stroller in the future. Leaving your straps untrimmed gives you the option to remove it and use it on a different pushchair. What age is the Lascal BuggyBoard suitable for and what weight does it hold? Egg 2 Prams and Pushchairs are designed in the UK with luxurious fabrics and materials to create the ultimate in comfort, safety and style. The Egg2 baby stroller features flowing lines and all the practical features you would expect from a premium stroller. Suitable from birth up to 25kg, the Egg2 pushchair can be used with a Carrycot or with multi car seat adaptors making it Travel System compatible. Egg also has growing families covered and can accommodate a second child or even twins with a Tandem and Twin modes with numerous combinations of Carrycots, Seats and Car Seats.

When your child rides on the buggy board, they’re actually positioned between your arms as you push the pram, making it extra safe. They can also hold onto the pushchair handle bar too. However, just like the beefier version, it will fit any pushchair and has the same non-slip platform, with built-in suspension for a comfortable ride. The stroller also has larger front and rear wheels for multi-terrain strolling – the stunning tri-spoke design matches and finishes the chassis, beautifully.

How we chose our recommendations

When it comes to attaching it to your buggy, the Baby Jogger Glider Board is easy to fit. It can also be flipped and clipped away when not in use and it won’t stop you folding your buggy when attached either. Like the Oyster board though, this board designed to fit only one brand of pushchairs, which means that it won’t be of use if you don't have a Baby Jogger design.

The storage underneath the pram is easy to access as there is adequate room above it to put bags in and out without having to ram them through a small area. Maximum child’s weight: Up to 20kg as a stroller board, up to 50kg as a scooter | Suitable for: Most prams via universal connectors What we loveThe Lascal BuggyBoard Maxi is our favourite buggy board because it’s sturdy, easy to use and versatile as it fits more than 99% of pushchairs and can also be bought with a matching seat. Like the Easy X4 Rider, the Roma Uptown Rider also offers a steering wheel and car-style seat, which your child is bound to enjoy. There are four wheels for added stability, a three-point harness for extra safety and a removable and washable seat padding to ensure your toddler rides in comfort.

3. Best standing buggy board: Mountain Buggy Freerider Stroller Board

The non-slip surface will keep your child stable during your travels. Like most of the buggy boards on our list, can handle a maximum weight of 20kg. Parents on our Mumsnet talk boards often discuss the merits of buggy boards and are always keen to report on the best performing products - and the ones that fall short of expectations too. We've collated a list of the best buggy boards that Mumsnetters have tried, tested and rave about to put together this handy guide. The term buggy board officially refers to the Lascal Buggy Board, which was the very first board manufactured to be attached to a buggy. Most pushchair brands offer their own buggy board but you can also choose from a wide range of universal buggy boards designed to fit most types of pram. A proud chassis, the egg2 ® 5-position handle has an adjustment range of 99 x 111cm, and with a redesigned central hub sporting a proud egg ® emblem. Featuring a ‘one-hand fold’, the chassis is compact when folded and freestands, with the handle clear from the ground. The egg2 ® is suitable from birth (with a carrycot) up to 25kg.

Featuring soft touch fabrics, flowing lines and smooth contours the Egg2 range of Baby Prams oozes style and class. But the Egg2 isn't just style over susbstance, the fabulous looks are complimented by outstanding British engineering to be safe, sturdy, easy to use and to provide the perfect ride for you and your baby. For scooter mode, you turn the rear wheel into the fixed position. To allow for manoeuvrability when it’s attached to the buggy, you can turn it for a 360 degree swivel function. There are light up, colourful wheels and an adjustable handlebar that houses four height options, from 68cm (26 inches) to 90cm (35inches) so it will grow with your child. As a scooter, it can handle up to 50kg of weight or 20kg as a buggy board when attached to a pushchair. In this guide, we cover all the need-to-knows about the Lascal BuggyBoard and answer your commonly asked questions, so you can decide if it’s the best buggy board to suit your needs. How does the Lascal BuggyBoard work? Most buggy boards are suitable from 2-years-old but the Roma Uptown Rider can be used from 12 months - great if you have a small gap between your babes. However, it’s not as versatile as a dual purpose ride-on like the BumpRider Sit Stroller Board, because this is only a seat and offers no function as a standing board.

Once you get used to altering your stride slightly to accommodate the small space the buggy board takes up, we think it’s very easy and comfortable to use. There’s naturally an extra pull from the weight of an additional child -- especially when walking uphill! -- but that would apply with a double pushchair as well. We think the Lascal BuggyBoard is a really easy and convenient solution for journeying with two, especially when your little one wants to walk sometimes but needs a rest at others. How easy is the Lascal BuggyBoard to fit? This special edition version in snazzy leopard print adds a fashionable touch to proceedings too - great for standing out from the crowd at your local toddler group. Lascal recommends their buggy board for ages 2-6, with a maximum weight of 22lb or 48lb. This is the same whether you’re using the Lascal Maxi BuggyBoard or Mini BuggyBoard. Usually, by around aged 4 to 4 ½, your little one will be (mostly) happy to walk without assistance, so you shouldn’t need to worry about needing the buggy board after they’ve exceeded the weight limit.
