About this deal

Out of the box, you will receive everything you need plus a few other things that are really nice to have.

are both outstanding gaming keyboards, but the Razer is slightly better because it has lower latency. It's a wired-only keyboard, so you need to run a cable running from the couch to the computer, which isn't ideal if you have kids or pets. So, I’m probably not the best judge of whether or not these switches are actually speedier than others. RAPIDFIRE gaming keyboard features a textured soft-touch wrist rest to provide just the right amount of grip to keep your hands in place and provide long-lasting comfort to enhance your experience for long gaming sessions. The dark finish to the aluminum top case gives good isolation to the keys, while its mild reflectivity, and the clear base of the switches, adds a cute glow. It's mainly made out of plastic, and the top plate is aluminum, giving the keyboard a better build than the Corsair K68 RGB, but the keyboard flexes a bit. While iCue won’t affect how fast the keys fire, it is responsible for hosting macros and other settings. This has the dual benefit of allowing for a more prominent display of the RGB lighting and allowing you to easily remove any debris that might collect underneath the keycaps. Moreover, the RGB lighting finds a nice balance between brightness and not going overboard into distraction. Other design missteps include the unnecessarily widened cyber-font used on the keys, which does little but take down the class a notch, and the rather small feet which make next to no difference to the keyboard's angle, but do make it slide around a little more than when the full footprint of the silicon pads underneath are in contact with your desk.

Use iCUE to also customize the K70 CORE’s dazzling per-key RGB lighting and make your desktop your own dynamic work of art, and then save your RGB settings and macros on up to five onboard profiles to always have at the ready. Thankfully, the swap to the new exclusive switches is a success and simply adds another choice for gamers looking to get their hands on one of the best keyboards available. Also see our recommendations for the best gaming keyboards, the best mechanical keyboards, and the best RGB keyboards. Although all of these options should be self-explanatory; the difference between static and solid is that static is just a constant illumination, whereas solid is like gradient without the fading effects.

For instance, you can reprogram any key with a huge variety of functions and custom macros, and stack layers of RGB lighting also on a per-key basis. If someone has a Corsair K70 RGB that's different from ours, let us know in the discussions and we'll update the review. The volume rocker is super smooth and accurate and like this new functionality better than the buttons in the original K70. In her spare time she dabbles in bicycle maintenance, creative writing, playing board games, and emulating old PC titles for modern machines. CORSAIR iCUE software allows full access for colourful dynamic RGB lighting, sophisticated macro programming and full-system lighting synchronization, compatible with other CORSAIR products including peripherals, coolers, fans, and more. Mine has ALWAYS had staticky Cherry MX Blue switches, especially the “s” key from day one and now several others are doing it. Next, Corsair did include textured FPS and MOBA keycap sets as well as a keycap removal tool which is something I now expect from a high-end board.

The Corsair comes with a detachable wrist rest, has full RGB backlighting, and software for customization. This beauty has Razer’s largest screen size available and will get a bit of a resolution bump in a tradeoff with the refresh rate numbers.

SE is a premium mechanical gaming keyboard built to last, with silver aluminum frame, CHERRY MX Speed keyswitches, white PBT double-shot keycaps and stunning per-key RGB dynamic backlighting. The typing quality with the Cherry MX Brown switches we reviewed is great, but you can get the switches you prefer. There’s a lot of making selections only to have them not apply because you failed to drag-drop them to some other confusing profile menu. Obviously, this is more or less personal preference, but having a half height Enter key makes a lot more sense to me. Low profile switches seem like an interesting choice for a desktop keyboard so we put it to the test to find out how well it performs.
